A couple of days ago my partner sent me message that read "You're Margot Robbie!!!!!" and then a link.
My mind went into Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality) mode.
π΅ You think I'm gorgeous... you want to kiss me... you want to hug me... π΅
I mean being told you're Margot Robbie is a pretty big deal.
So, I clicked the link thinking it would be a clip from Barbie or maybe something from Birds of Prey.
What a found made be burst out laughing.
Here's that link.
And he's not lying... I am Margot Robbie.
I also lied to my optometrist because I desperately wanted glasses.
I waltzed in ready to fail the test spectacularly but was instead declared to have perfect vision.
Apparently there's no faking it until you make it with optometrists. π
The irony of all this is now 25 years later I actually do need glasses and I'm really not that happy about it tbh.
Thankfully in the digital space you're not likely to encounter a buyer who fakes needing your support.
What you are more likely to encounter is a buyer who's hyper-focused on their wants and maybe not so clear on their needs.
But the good news is that your buyer can have their cake AND eat it. π°
It just requires you to step into the role of BEING A GOOD GUIDE.
This means anticipating your buyer's needs and wants both in the buyer journey and in the program/service content.
Here's my advice on how to be a good guide from the outset.
Step 1: Be clear on any sales page, social media post, sales call, etc.. what your product/service is or isn't...
Step 2: Design a smoother that smooth buyer experience from the point of purchase.
Give them things like:
β
Structured next steps laid out on the thank you page
β
Clear timelines in the welcome email so they know when things kickoff
β
Easy to click links to the course area / community
That way your buyer can trust in you as a guide and focus more on engaging with and implementing your product/service
Step 3: Make sure your product/service delivers from the outset those needs and wants promised during Step 1.
